MACV's Information
Mayors' Veterans Appreciation Day (held 20Jul19)
VSC's website helps Veterans, Military and their Families find the vital resources they need and are entitled to for their service to our country.
- VSC's website lists local, state, and federal organizations that offer our Veterans, Military and their Families; the goods, services, programs and the benefits they have earned.
- VSC Partnered with MACV in 2014 making VSC the official sponsor, fundraiser and promoter of the annual Mayors' Veterans Appreciation Day event.
- Starting in 2020 the Mayors' Veterans Appreciation Day event will invite Veterans Service Providers, Veterans, Military and their Families from all the Central Indiana counties to participate with us at the Marion County Fairgrounds.
- VSC is looking to Partner with other communities and Veterans organizations throughout the State of Indiana enabling us to to better support our Veteran population.
- MACV is a Marion County networking organization made up of local Veterans Service Providers, Veterans focused, and Veterans owned business that meets monthly to plan on how to better serve our Veteran and Military community.
- MACV advises the Marion County Mayors and Town Managers on the needs of the Veteran community.
Together, VSC and MACV's mission is to better serve and inform our Veteran, Military Community, and Government Officials.
News for Veterans
NEW - Date for the 10th Annual Mayors' Veterans Appreciation Day event has been set for Saturday the 8th of August 2020 - Event dates set for the next five years: Veterans Support Council, Inc. (VSC) has signed a multiyear package with the Marion County Fairgrounds to hold its Mayors' Veterans Appreciation Day event at the Fairgrounds for the next five years. All dates will be on the 2nd Saturday of August from 2020 thru 2024.
FREE BUS PASSES FOR INDY VETERANS: Starting July 18, 2018, all Veterans living in the Indianapolis Metro areas are eligible to ride the IndyGo buses for FREE. To register, veterans must complete the enrollment process in person at the Julia Carson Transit Center, 201 E Washington Street. Veterans must fill out an application (provided in both English and Spanish), provide proof of eligibility, and have a photo taken at the Transit Center Customer Service desk. Two New VSO's for Marion County: Starting November 1, 2018 Indianapolis hired two new Veterans Service Officers (VSO's) that will be serving our Veterans community in all of Marion County. View rtv's Channel Video
COMING SOON: VSC's website will soon have a complete database of goods, services programs and benefits available to Veterans, Military and their Families. The database will be broken down into over 400 topics such as; housing, employment, clothing, food, health care, education, help with addictions, help with mental illness, etc.

VSC & MACV would like to thank all the Veterans and their Family members that came to our 9th Annual Mayors' Veterans Appreciation Day event on the 20th of July 2019. In spite of temperatures in the mid 90's we welcomed over 1,100 people and made it a great success.
